Program Overview

Camp Wenonah’s Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program gives emerging leaders ages 13–16 the opportunity to take on greater responsibility while still experiencing the fun of Camp. CITs build confidence and leadership skills by supporting younger campers, assisting counselors, and stepping into leadership opportunities throughout the camp day.

2026 CIT Program Details

  • Ages: 13–16
  • Program Dates: June 7–August 14
  • Hours: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Commitment: Two-week session; participants choose their weeks
  • Cost: $100 per two-week session
  • Eligibility: Open to members and non-members
  • Meals: CITs should bring a packed lunch
  • Financial Assistance: Available

Transportation between the Winona Family YMCA and Camp Wenonah is available during select weeks:

  • Week 1: June 8–12
  • Week 3: July 6–10
  • Week 8: August 10–14

What CITs Do

CITs get hands-on experience as developing leaders at Camp Wenonah. Throughout their two-week experience, they will:

  • Step into leadership opportunities throughout the camp day
  • Support and interact with younger campers
  • Assist counselors during activities
  • Participate in the Camp Wenonah experience while developing confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills
