Program Overview
Youth volleyball at the Winona Family YMCA gives kids opportunities to learn the game, build skills, and have fun in a supportive environment. Programs are available for a variety of ages and abilities, with an emphasis on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence.
Happy Hitters (Ages 3-6)
Happy Hitters introduces preschoolers and kindergarteners to the basics of volleyball using age-appropriate equipment and activities. Participants learn volleyball vocabulary and foundational skills while also practicing teamwork, sharing, sportsmanship, and having fun being active with others.

Volleyball Skills & Drills (Grades 1–4)
Volleyball Skills & Drills helps young players develop the fundamentals of volleyball while becoming more familiar with the language and rules of the game. Practices include skill development and age-appropriate competition in an environment that emphasizes character, fair play, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Girls Volleyball (Grades 5-6)
Girls Volleyball helps young athletes build a strong foundation in volleyball through practices focused on bumping, setting, serving, rally scoring, court spacing, and basic game strategy. Players also have opportunities to apply their skills in age-appropriate competition while developing teamwork, fair play, character, and sportsmanship.

- Location: Winona Family YMCA Gymnasium
- Game Days: September 19 & 26 and October 3 & 10

All Abilities Volleyball provides an inclusive environment where participants can develop volleyball skills such as bumping and setting while building confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Beginners and experienced players are welcome, with additional staff and volunteers available to support participants with varying physical, social, and cognitive abilities.
